THREE CONVERSATIONS ABOUT ONE WOG

1.
On the jungle gym at the playground:
The Wog: "Be careful, little boy."
Boy: "I don't have to be careful; I'm six!"
The Wog: "I'm a princess."
Boy: (To The Wog's father): "WHAT did she say???"

2.
In her carseat at a stoplight pulled up next to a middle-aged couple on a motorycle:
The Wog: "Little girl, give me your sunglasses."
Lady on Motorcycle: "..."

3.
At the dinner table:
The Wog: "I'm a princess!"
Me: "What's The Doodle?"
The Wog: "The Doodle is a king."
Me: "What's Daddy?"
The Wog: "Daddy's a pirate."
Me: "What's Minnie?"
The Wog: "Minnie's like a king." (A queen, maybe?)
Me: "What's Pop-Pop?"
The Wog: "Pop-Pop's a monster."
Me: "What's Grandma?"
The Wog: "Grandma's a lion."
Me: "What's Grandpa?"
The Wog: "Grandpa's a dinosaur."
Me: "What am I?"
The Wog: "Mama is a WITCH!"

MOMMY & DOODLE, DADDY & DOODLE

A WOG IS BORN

Our little local playhouse puts on a children's show on Friday mornings in the summertime. The Wog attends weekly. Here she is, getting excited to go on the rarest of occasions: a day on which she has consented to wear something other than a dress!

The Doodle likes the play, too:

PART 37 OF "THE WOG AND CHLOE EAT" SERIES

Other pictures in the series:

MORE GRANDNESS

The Wog and The Doodle's paternal grandparents visited this past weekend, and we had a brief visit with Memaire, as well.

The Wog and The Doodle hang out with Grandpa:

Four generations:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LILY!

The Wog (and The Doodle!) attended her friend Lily's 3rd birthday party over the weekend. It was a luau-themed bash, and a fabulous time was clearly had by all.

Eating watermelon with Chloe (nearly every picture of Chloe and Polly together on this blog is an eating shot):

The delicious cake on its way out. In the next three pictures, check out Polly and The Wog's father in the background; he has to hold her back!

Attempting to leap from his arms into the cake:

Still trying to get at it:

Note the serious look on The Wog's father's face. Holding back a cake-wanting Wog is hard work!

And finally, cake!

A rousing "Ring Around the Rosy":

There were lots of toddler-aged girls at the party and just two toddler boys. And you could tell! At one point, the girls had formed a "Girls Club" in the playhouse and were refusing to admit the boys. I had no idea it started this young!

WOGSTERS, INC.

I DVR'd Monsters, Inc. recently and The Wog seemed to be enjoying it; she frequently asked to watch "The Monsters" and only seemed bothered by one scene at the very beginning, which she calls "the dark one," and which we always fast forward through. Except that she has started looking fearfully into her bedroom closet, and she has made a habit of sneaking into our bed after we put her down in her room at night.

Reading People Magazine:

A DRESSED UP DOODLE

The Doodle had his two-month doctor's appointment today. He dressed for the occasion. He now weighs 13 pounds and is 23 inches long. The two month appointment consists of lots of shots and "a drink." The Doodle did not oppose "the drink," but the shots did not go over well. At all. I didn't think a baby could turn that shade of . Poor little doodle.

These pictures were taken prior to the shots when The Doodle still believed that the world was primarily good:
