iConnecticut

Here are pictures from Marc's iphone of The Wog's and The Doodle's recent trip to Connecticut.

Sometimes The Doodle is fiercely independent:

But he enjoys a good snuggle from Grandma as much as anyone!

Aunt Suham took them to a farm, where The Doodle got a one-on-one with a llama!

Everyone had to try on Grandpa's glasses:

The Wog came home and informed me, "Grandma gives me everything I want." This included waffles with real maple syrup--one of her favorite breakfasts!

Hanging out in the Vaillants' backyard:

Swinging with Grandpa!

They also attended a Fair where, for reasons still unbeknownst to me, The Wog wore a crown and got pushed around by middle-schoolers in a chariot. (The Doodle, apparently, declined the ride.)

DOODLE THE BUILDER

Can he build it? Yes he can!

iSKATE

Every once in a while The Wog's father sends me all of the pictures from his iphone. I just got a bunch, and I made a compilation of Wog skating shots. Many more pictures coming soon--from his phone throughout the spring and their recent trip to see Grandma and Grandpa.

The Doodle enjoys watching, but he enjoys running along the red ramp more!

Hanging out, hoping for popcorn!

MEETING CINDERELLA, PART SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY THREE (OR SO)

The Wog has met many a Cinderella in her 4.5 years (the perks of living near Storyland!) and caught up with yet another during a recent visit to our local Children's Museum. She read a story, and then they made their very own tiaras.

She and her friend Jordan were delighted by themselves and by the experience, as evidenced by this picture.

Listening to the story:

The Doodle was not remotely interested in Cinderella, but he did enjoy locating this bunch of balloons out in the lobby.

A creative use for Children's Museum resources:

The Doodle's signature "back off and let me do it myself!" stance (I see this VERY frequently these days. Most fun: carseat buckling in the rain):

HE AIN'T HEAVY HE'S MY DOODLE

GRANDPARENTPALOOZA 2009

The Wog and The Doodle spent a happy week of playing, cooking, eating, shopping and hugging with Minnie and Pop-Pop, and are now off at Grandma and Grandpa's house. At the end of this 2 week period of grandparent visits, I suspect they will be 1)well-fed; 2)well-dressed and 3)well-hugged. Not that those things don't apply in their daily lives anyway, but perhaps slightly moreso when grandparents are around!

Love for Minnie:

Unfortunately the lighting was bad in these pictures so I had to tinker around to see them. Still, they're cute!

Love for Pop-Pop:

A MODERN FAMILY PORTRAIT

Here is what our parting portrait looked like with Minnie and Pop-Pop the first time we tried to take it.

(The Doodle wasn't into it, and he let us know.)

WOG-LOHA

I didn't know The Wog could hula until Lily's mom, Laura, posted this on Facebook, and this has become one of my absolute favorite pictures. It makes me wants to laugh and cry. These sweet, sweet girls...

(I have no idea how Laura coerced to leave her clothes on underneath the costume since they usually all come flying off in anticipation of princess dresses the second a playdate starts.)

And another one I lifted from Laura of a February snow day pizza lunch with the gang+1 (the girl in the middle is unidentified).

(Also note that The Doodle is not the only man about town working the pink boots!)

HERE COMES PETER DOODLETAIL, WOGGING DOWN THE BUNNY TRAIL...

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on it's Way!

On their way to the egg hunt:

The Wog spotted the field of eggs (2,000+) and took off! I had to explain to her that she needed to wait for the official start.

Face-off on the bridge during a brief egg-hunting hiatus at the playground.

All lined up and getting ready to fill their baskets!

Ready, set, GO!

An egg-hunting Doodle:

It took a bit, but he got the hang of it just as all the eggs disappeared. Still, he managed to collect four, of which he was quite proud.

Happy!

Inspecting their finds:

Looking for candy! (The ratio of trinkets:candy was about 20:1--you can bet they were madly looking for the candy.)

Egg hunters!

A happy bunny.

Homeward bound:
