WOGGY'S PANCAKE PARLOR 2009

We made our annual pilgrimage to Polly's Pancake Parlor and were not disappointed! (Neither were the other people on the two hour waiting list, I hope. Thank God for call-ahead seating!) Here they are, having a ride on Polly's mascot, Trot-Trot.

(When the waitress brought our bill, The Wog proudly announced that her name was Polly, too. Pointing to The Doodle Marc added, "And his name is Trot-Trot!" Too bad he already has too many names, because Trot-Trot would be a good one for him.)

And here is The Doodle last week at Storytime with his little friend Phoebe. They were examining the flowers.

(The Doodle insists on wearing his hats backward. It's not worth the fight.)

FASTER THAN A SPEEDING DOODLE...

Meet The Doodle's alter-ego. (As yet, SuperDoodle remains nameless: suggestions welcome.) He insists on wearing the goggles pretty much whenever we leave the house. Shoes? Check! Coat? Check! Goggles? Check! People keep telling us he needs a cape; I guess he does.

And here they are, enjoying a visit to Grandma and Grandpa's beautiful lake house:

Typical Doodle swagger:

Peeking through the balcony:

Congratulations, Grandma and Grandpa!

At rest:

Better together!

HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Well, the post is belated but the sentiment remains the same. We had the happy occasion to celebrate Labor Day Weekend at Minnie and Pop-Pop's house with much loved and anticipated members of our extended family--aunts, great-aunts and great-uncles, cousins, cousins-in-law, and many, many cousins-once removed. The Wog and The Doodle were entirely delighted by this family time, and not a tear was shed until it was time to say "goodbye"--a huge accomplishment considering the # of kids in attendance! In addition to pool time, delicious food, costume changes and Miss Mary Mackage, a few amazing magic tricks were even performed by Peter!

Poolside with popsicles:

(Apparently, Aunt Mary Beth wants YOU!)

"Painting" the pool and surrounding cabana kept us busy when we were young, and times have not changed:

The Doodle thoughtfully shared his apple with his sweet adorable cousin, Liam:

And then Liam got one of his own!

Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack...

...all dressed in black, black, black!

Picnicking!

And at play:

Cousins AND three weeks apart!

The best group photo I could get. If anyone got a better one, send it my way!

PROJECT RUNWOG

The Wog declined my wardrobe selection for her second day of school and picked this out all on her own, including the "cute little jacket." She dug the green wrapping ribbon out of one of her treasure chests and insisted on wearing it as well. She felt as good as she looked, and whoever said you can't mix prints? I honestly could not have dressed her better.

The Doodle, mid-"CHEEEESE":

I wonder where she learned to pose?

Bottoms up!

GIGGLEDOODLE FAIR

While in NJ, we went to an inside play area called "Gigglebury Fair"--sort of like a cross between a children's museum, arcade, and restaurant. It was so much fun--particularly the giant dance floor which lit up Big-style.

Our little hogs:

I don't know why, but this angle cracks me up:

Gone fishin':

A happy little piggy:

Ready to stomp some bugs!

"Planting" vegetables:

And setting them up to sell at her very own farmer's market:

Driving their two-wheeled (genius!) cab:

They enjoyed the tiny little carousel:

Later, in Minnie and Pop-Pop's bed. Can you guess which one was happy and which one was not?

THE WOG'S (THIRD) FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

The Wog headed back to Lilliputian School today with a smile on her face and a spring in her step.

A look back over the past two years:

The Doodle wanted in on the action too!
