THE WOG AND THE DOODLE TOUCH TRUCKS!

We headed to neighboring Fryeburg, Maine for a "Touch a Truck" event put on by one of the community organizations. The Wog particularly enjoyed her tour of the medical equipment in the back of an ambulance, and The Doodle enjoyed the big rigs and "whee-noos". The most interesting truck on site? A hearse! We bypassed it, and everyone else we saw seemed to do the same.

A MID-SUMMER WOG'S DREAM

The Wog made her Shakespearean stage debut as part of the Children's Stage Adventures camp sponsored by our local children's museum. She worked hard all week, and enjoyed being a magical purple flower! I am trying to upload a video but the sound is not cooperating. In the meantime, a few pics will have to do.

STARRY STARRY WOG

The Wog (and The Doodle!) attended the fabulous birthday party of Morgan at Storyland. Party favors? Awesome face painting! Amazingly enough, each girl chose something different. (I thought we would surely have six pink kitties.)

Our starry-eyed Wog:

Happy Birthday, Morgan!

IN THE SUMMERTIME

The Wog finished up her month-long DAILY swim lessons at the lake, and passed her test! She is official a Board-Certified Level 3 American Red Cross Swimmer!

After years of messily attempting to feed multiple kids at our adult table, I wised up one day during a bigger-sized playdate; threw a blanket on the floor; and declared an Indoor Picnic. The kids were delighted (I swear they ate more) and the clean-up was so much easier. Photos from one recent indoor popsicle picnic!

Phoebe was totally moving in on The Doodle's popsicle!

HAPPY WEDDING, HAPPY LIFE, JOE AND KELLY!

Three out of four Vaillants attended the lovely wedding of Joe and Kelly on Saturday. (The Doodle stayed behind and enjoyed some 2:1 time with Grandma and Grandpa.)

It was a glorious day!

The Wog loves flowers!

There were a bunch of kids in the 4-5 age range, and they frolicked all afternoon!

The place cards were rocks collected from the stream in the bride and groom's backyard.

The Wog enjoyed a cupcake. Or two.

The lovely bride and groom:

(I was desperately trying to capture this shot, but the man with the video camera was not cooperating. I think we were in an nonvocal face-off. I tried to Photoshop him out, but I lack the skills.)

The Wog found a kindred flower girl. They exchanged tales:

A momentary pause in the action:

The Wog and friends get their funk on!

A beautiful blur:

John was the only male amongst the Preschool Posse. The Wog tried to cut in, but the other little girl was fiercely guarding her man!

GIVE THE WOG'S REGARDS TO BROADWAY...

The Wog made her stage debut on Friday night wrapping up a week of "P-Nut Theater Camp." She was the youngest in the group, which ranged from 4-12, and she enjoyed every minute of it. The kids create their own characters, "write" the script, design the scenery, and sing and dance--all put together in just one short week. The Wog was (surprise!) Princess Annalise, and her friend Jordan was Daisy, her pet dragon. The play itself was a convoluted mish-mosh involving princesses, astronauts, superheroes, a misunderstood black widow spider, and a "Mad Scientist Pug." They sang a song from "Chicago." We were entertained beyond our wildest expectations. We didn't bring the video camera but hope to buy a copy of the video shortly! (Unless you catch it on HBO first...)

When you walked into the building, you were greeted by a "headshot" of each child, along with individualized programs. The Wog did the artwork to the left of her picture. She enjoys writing her name backwards!

She was delighted that her friend Chloe and her baby sister, Phoebe, came to watch. After the play, The Wog emerged from backstage, beelined to Chloe, and said, "Come on. There's someone I'd like you to meet."

(The Wog had a wardrobe malfunction during the dress rehearsal. We'd planned for her to wear her Snow Princess dress but its poofiness was interfering with the choreography, so we had to make a last minute improvisation.)
