A WOG ON HER TOES!

The Wog started taking kindergarten "pre-ballet" and has been practicing her little heart out. I've caught her using both the sideboard and our wood stove as a barre.

Plie:

Sous-sus:

This former ballet dancer can't recall what this is called!

She is very proud of herself!

Second position!

A stroke of genius: the instructor put a little heart sticker on the inside of each of their shoes to help them remember to turn out:

Arabesque:

A great shot of the missing tooth!

How they finished up the ballet class!

STORYLAND, REVISITED

Storyland may be done for the season, but our Storyland pictures are not! Here are a few off of Marc's iPhone from the summer:

The Doodle enjoys a very rare ice cream treat:

The Wog is on the run!

Why? Because she is protecting her ice cream from Daddy!

One of our favorite rides, the tractors!

Our monkeys in the Storyland jail!

WOGS ON A PLANE

I just got a bunch of old pictures from Marc's iphone dating back to the summer months. I'll be adding them over the next few days. It's amazing how much they both change--even in just a few months.

Here is The Wog in the jungle. (AKA the front circle of The White Mountain Hotel).

And The Doodle enjoying a plane ride to New Jersey:

Pretty Wog also enjoys flying.

While Marc showers, he usually contains The Doodle in a stroller so he's not tearing up the house. This is how he looked on one particular occasion:

He loves to keep abreast on all the latest news while riding in the car:

Have you ever seen a prettier tree climber?

The Doodle loves sliding!

TONIGHT THE WOG IS GETTING A VERY SPECIAL VISIT FROM...

...the tooth fairy!

She had been telling me for a while that her teeth hurt when she ate apples. It didn't occur to me that she had a loose tooth; I thought she was too young. We went to the dentist for her check-up and found out she didn't have a loose tooth at all: she had TWO! She's been enjoying wiggling her tooth around and asking questions about when it might fall out, but I still thought we had a while to go as the dental technician had suggested as much. Last night, while brushing her teeth, she surprised us all by spitting out a little something extra. She said to her father, "I lost my tooth, Daddy! I really really lost my tooth!"

A LONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR AWAY....

We love Halloween and this year it was a full-on family effort. As usual we began our Halloween night in Jackson at the local vendor's "Treat Street" and then made our way to the annual festivities at the Orth- Dennis home. As usual, in addition to hosting tons of family and friends, they also hosted the Fryeburg Fair award-winning pumpkin! The weather semi-cooperated: it stayed very warm, but we did get hit by a downpour or two while out and about. It did not spoil the fun, and we're already talking about next year's costumes--subject to change about 564 times between now and then. Happy Halloween! May the force be with you!

Our little Leia:

The Doodle did not Trick or Treat although this picture makes it look like he did. Instead, he rode around town in style (and in the rain!) in a wagon.

And the "Good Sport/Better Dad" award for the evening goes to....

JABBA THE HUT!

Here he is, besieged by a few cheetahs and Chiquita Banana:

The aforementioned wagon with his little friend "Babdandrew" AKA "Baby Andrew":

Leia carried Jabba's tail while Jabba carries the booze:

Who knew how handy a backyard half-pipe would be in helping burn off all that Halloween sugar?

The Doodle caught in the 30 second period during which he consented to wear the Yoda hat:

With his little buddy (and fellow future hell-raiser), Pirate Dylan:

The one and only picture I managed to get of Leia and Yoda together:

The buns were perfect and VERY time-consuming. (Ignore the Halloween treat; we had a candy necklace explosion.)

Father and son take a well-earned break:

The lollipop lasted a long time--through two parties!

Examining their loot:

Being a "space princess" is hard work for a little Wog:
