MERRY CHRISTMAS, A MONTH LATE

The Wog's father pointed out to me that we never posted our favorite shots from The Wog's photo shoot. So, a month late, here they are:

A LITTLE PERSON AND HER LITTLE PEOPLE

The Wog got lots of Little People for Christmas and has been enjoying them. We've been slowly unboxing them and giving them to her, so she has time to appreciate the new toy before moving on. We opened her "Sweet Sounds" home the other morning; here she is, giving it her full attention:

THE WOG AND HER SHADOW

The Wog casts a really long shadow out in the snow on a sunny day! We headed out to the little skating rink in the village of our town on Sunday. We were debating taking The Wog out on the ice (a clarification: The Wog's father was debating taking her out on the ice, while I was planning on standing watch) but it looked a little rough and tumble out there. So instead she played in the snow and seems to, thankfully, be blessed with her father's balance and not mine!

Looking at birds:

She called this, "climbing the mountain":

The Wog ran directly at the flagpole, paused, and then came tearing back at us in horror, yelling that it's "Too big! Too big!" I guess it freaked her out!

As usual, when The Wog is out and about town, she made a friend!

A WOG IS A WISH YOUR HEART MAKES

Several people have asked me recently whether The Wog is into "girly" things, like choosing her own clothes or Disney princesses, etc. I have always responded that the only thing making The Wog "girly" is me--she'll wear whatever you can wrestle her into, and she likes a good choo-choo train as much as she likes a pretty princess. But over the weekend we decided to rent The Wog's first movie, and Cinderella is what we picked. And she has been all about the princesses ever since! She also recently saw the Dora movie where Dora turns into a princess by brushing her newly long, long hair. Now whenever The Wog sees Dora she exclaims, "Brusha hair! Brusha hair!" I guess she thinks Dora deserves to be a princess all the time!

TASTES LIKE CHICKEN

No pictures today, but a quick story. The Wog loves to chew on ice pieces. They're pretty much the only thing that will keep her occupied for long periods of time in restaurants, and The Wog's father has mastered chipping the ice into small, non-choke hazard pieces. We have a good bit of snow on the ground here, and lots of ice. The other day we got into the car after Squeaky Sneakers ("Kweeky Neekers! Kweeky Neekers!") and The Wog had some ice on her Vans. I noticed she was scraping the ice off and eating it. When I asked her what the ice tasted like, she responded, "Feet!"

A WOG AND SOME WIDGETS

We were in Baltimore last weekend visiting with friends, including sweet Bee & spunky little Eva. While there, we checked out Port Discovery, which turned out to be a pretty amazing Children's Museum. We could have spent the whole day there!

The Wog had a chance to sort some widgets:

She also got to examine a variety of fake fruits and vegetables (and licked just about every one). Here she is, sampling tasties with Bee and visiting the pet store with Eva:

The museum had a very impressive 3-story climbing apparatus. I stayed on the ground, but The Wog and her father did some major exploration. The museum also had an old standby Wog favorite...the ballpit!

We also ventured into history, and The Wog got towed on a bridge across an imaginary river:

The Wog also got to meet Clifford (or remeet, as they have met in the past, although I don't think she remembered); here she is, staring down Emily Elizabeth, who she insisted on calling, "Where-Beth," which is what she calls her Aunt. Anyone see the resemblance?

The Wog enjoyed her time in Baltimore and has done her fair shair of talking about Bee and Eva since we returned!

PUTTING THE WOG TO WORK

We finally got some snow (and are getting some snow!) so of course we put The Wog right to work.

Shoveling snow should be as much fun for adults! (And check out her snazzy new snowboots!)

A COY WOG

THE WOG FINDS THE "F"

The Wog knows her letters! Here she is, finding the "F." (As you can see, The Wog's father is quite pleased by this development.)

A DIRTY WOG (or THE REASON WHY WE HAVE A TEMPORARY BAN ON MARKERS IN OUR HOUSEHOLD)

The Wog was sitting in her high chair coloring while I folded laundry in the neighboring room. I heard her say, "I color face!" I instantly dropped the towel I was folding and high-tailed it to her, but I was too late!

THE LITERWOGGY

The Wog loves books! Her current favorites are the Froggy series (featuring baby sister Polliwogilina), Harry the Dirty Dog (requested as such: "Dirty Dog! Dirty Dog!"), and Peek-A-Boo Christmas. Here she is with her father during their nighttime routine.

Last night she woke up distraught in the middle of the night. I went in to get her back down and asked if she wanted me to tuck her in; she responded, "No! Daddy!"
