GEARING UP FOR WOGENTINE'S DAY

The Wog's school has been busy making preparations for Valentine's Day. They built a mailbox and have been working each day to make cards for their loved ones.

Here is the mailbox:

And here is the list of names the class compiled for potential Valentine's recipients.

(I saw this yesterday and made sure to bring the camera today. Apparently The Wog was very insistent upon her addition to the list.)

THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WOGGING...

...but also for Doodling! People love to tell us that he is "all boy." What do you think they'd make of this?

This is what happens when you lose one shoe, and you have a pink-loving older sister. They're perfectly good (expensive!) boots, and now they are The Doodle's! Hopefully the missing shoe will turn up, but until then I think he pulls them off quite nicely.

ONE FLU OVER THE WOG'S NEST

The poor Wog has been felled by flu this week; she's missed two days of school, swimming lessons, and dance class. Needless to say, she is not a happy little Wog.

Here she is, sick but pretty:

The Doodle, for the time being anyway, remains healthy (and handsome!):

PRETTY PIGGY

The Wog received a beautiful hand-knit scarf from her friend Lily for Christmas. She likes it so much, she insists on sharing it with her "sister," Piglet:

(Alas, Piglet's enthusiasm did not match The Wog's.)

KATERINA WOGG (PRONOUNCED KATERINA VOGG)

The Wog's skating gets better and better! Here she is hitting the ice with her little friend Brooke at Sunday night skating lessons.

The Wog insisted on wearing her new Valentine's Day dress from Minnie.

Showing off her moves to her teacher:

Flinging:

And flung:

Happy skaters:

THE WOG AND HER FRIENDS DOWN BY THE SCHOOL YARD

The Wog's teachers occasionally send pictures home of the kids going about their daily work at school. Considering I've given up asking The Wog to disclose even the most basic information because she is not remotely forthcoming (or truthful, for that matter, as in the case of her friend, who for the first year of school, when prodded, always told her mother the snack was "broccoli"), the pictures are always a treat to receive. It's a little peak inside The Wog's secret life!

Doing her new favorite work, "The Listening Chair:"

Chilling (literally) with her girls:
(The Wog is in blue.)

The Wog and her sweet kindergarten reading buddy, Leia:

Checking out the "Big Books:"

The Wog and Aubrey eat red bananas while learning about Brazil during Circle. (A rare school tidbit that did make its way home to me: The Wog is convinced Aubrey's twin brother, Liam, can "lift a house.")

WHOSE IS IT? IT'S THE DOODLE'S!

One of The Doodle's absolute most favorite words lately is "mine." The other day at the grocery store, the checkout clerk told us he reminded her of this movie scene:

(No need to watch the whole thing--you'll get the gist of it pretty quickly.)

Follow-up, one week later: The woman who teaches West's "Kidrobics" class told me she had something to tell me today, but she was worried I'd be offended. I'll give you a hint: the sentence started with, "Have you ever seen the movie Finding Nemo?" Yup! Two people in less than one week have commented that West sounds like a bossy seagull!
